By submitting an application, sending documents, communicating with us, or requesting mortgage-related products or services, you consent to the collection, use, and disclosure of personal information for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and in any other notices or consent forms provided to you.

You may withdraw consent to certain uses or disclosures of your personal information, subject to legal, regulatory, contractual, and operational restrictions. Withdrawing consent may prevent Clover Mortgage from providing or continuing to provide certain products or services.

6. Use of Artificial Intelligence and Automated Technology

Clover Mortgage may use artificial intelligence, machine learning, optical character recognition, automated calculations, rules-based systems, data extraction tools, document-analysis software, decision-support systems, and similar technologies. These technologies may be developed internally by Clover Mortgage or supplied, hosted, or supported by third-party service providers.

How We May Use These Technologies

Clover Mortgage may use these systems to assist with:

  • Reading, organizing, classifying, and extracting information from mortgage and financial documents;
  • Identifying incomplete, inconsistent, unusual, or potentially inaccurate information;
  • Calculating income, debt-service ratios, loan-to-value ratios, affordability measures, and other mortgage-related figures;
  • Summarizing application information and supporting documents;
  • Comparing borrower information against lender guidelines, underwriting requirements, compliance requirements, or internal policies;
  • Identifying potential mortgage options or deal-structuring considerations;
  • Supporting fraud detection, identity verification, cybersecurity, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance;
  • Prioritizing files, routing tasks, and improving administrative workflows;
  • Generating preliminary communications, summaries, checklists, notes, or recommendations for review by Clover Mortgage personnel;
  • Supporting our mortgage agents, underwriting personnel, compliance personnel, and administrative staff; and
  • Developing, testing, maintaining, evaluating, and improving Clover Mortgage’s internal systems and services.

Information Processed by AI Systems

Depending on the particular service, an AI or automated system may process personal information contained in mortgage applications, identification records, income documents, bank statements, tax documents, credit information, property records, appraisal reports, communications, and other documents submitted in connection with a mortgage or financing request.

Clover Mortgage seeks to limit the information provided to an AI system to information reasonably necessary for the applicable business or mortgage-related purpose.

Third-Party AI Providers

Some AI-enabled services may be supplied or hosted by third-party technology providers. Where appropriate, Clover Mortgage assesses service providers based on factors such as their privacy practices, information-security measures, contractual commitments, data-use restrictions, retention practices, access controls, and the locations in which information may be processed.

We may require service providers, through contractual or other measures, to use personal information only for authorized purposes and to protect it using safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.

Except where disclosed to you and authorized by law, Clover Mortgage does not intend to permit third-party AI providers to use identifiable client information submitted by Clover Mortgage to independently advertise to clients or develop unrelated commercial profiles about them.

Whether information may be retained or used by a particular provider to maintain, secure, test, or improve its services depends on the provider, the service configuration, applicable contractual terms, and legal requirements. Clover Mortgage will seek to configure and use such services in a manner consistent with our privacy obligations and the sensitivity of mortgage and financial information.

Internally Developed AI Systems

Clover Mortgage may develop and operate proprietary AI-enabled tools and internal software. Personal information used by these systems remains subject to this Privacy Policy and Clover Mortgage’s privacy, information-security, access-control, retention, and compliance requirements.

Access to internal AI systems is limited to authorized personnel and service providers who require access for legitimate business, technology, compliance, or support purposes.

Where practicable and appropriate, Clover Mortgage may use de-identified, anonymized, synthetic, aggregated, or otherwise minimized information when developing, testing, or improving internal systems.

Human Review and Decision-Making

AI and automated tools may generate predictions, calculations, summaries, flags, classifications, or recommendations. These outputs may be incomplete, inaccurate, or require interpretation.

Clover Mortgage generally uses these tools to support, rather than replace, professional judgment. Mortgage recommendations, application submissions, compliance assessments, and other material actions may be reviewed by authorized Clover Mortgage personnel or other qualified professionals, as appropriate.

Final lending and mortgage-approval decisions are generally made by the applicable lender, insurer, investor, or other financial institution under its own underwriting policies and procedures. Clover Mortgage does not control a third-party lender’s independent decision-making process.

Where an automated process materially affects the services we provide, you may contact our Privacy Officer to request additional information about how your personal information was used, subject to applicable legal, commercial, security, and confidentiality restrictions.

Accuracy and Correction

Because automated systems rely on the information provided to them, inaccurate or incomplete source information may result in inaccurate outputs. You are responsible for providing information that is accurate and complete and for notifying Clover Mortgage when your information changes.

Clover Mortgage personnel may verify or correct information and automated outputs before relying on them. You may request access to or correction of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy.

7. Disclosure of Personal Information

  • Other parties where you direct us to disclose the information or provide consent.

8. Processing and Storage Outside Canada

Clover Mortgage and its service providers may store or process personal information in Canada or in other jurisdictions, including the United States.

When personal information is processed outside Canada, it may be subject to the laws of the jurisdiction in which it is stored or processed. Courts, law-enforcement agencies, national-security authorities, regulators, or other governmental bodies in that jurisdiction may be entitled to access the information in accordance with applicable local laws.

Clover Mortgage remains accountable under applicable Canadian privacy law for personal information transferred to service providers for processing and uses contractual or other measures intended to provide a comparable level of protection while the information is being processed by those providers.

12. Retention and Disposal

Clover Mortgage retains personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected and to satisfy legal, regulatory, licensing, tax, insurance, dispute-resolution, fraud-prevention, recordkeeping, and legitimate business requirements.

Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information, the nature of the mortgage transaction, the status of the application, regulatory requirements, contractual obligations, and whether a dispute or investigation is ongoing or reasonably anticipated.

When personal information is no longer required, Clover Mortgage will securely destroy, delete, erase, anonymize, or otherwise dispose of it in accordance with applicable policies and legal requirements.

Backup systems, archived records, system logs, and information held by service providers may not be deleted immediately and may remain until they are securely overwritten, deleted in accordance with established retention cycles, or no longer required by law.

13. Accessing and Correcting Personal Information

I was in debt and needed help getting back on track. My mortgage agent at Clover Mortgage helped me get approved for a home equity loan to consolidate all of my debt in one small monthly payment. Now I’m saving over $1,000 a month in interest and am left with less debt and more money in my pocket at the end of each month. Thank you Clover!

I'm a self employed independent contractor. I earn a decent income, but when I went to the bank to refinance my home, they denied my application telling me that I didn't have enough "provable" income to qualify for refinancing my home. When I came to Clover I was almost out of hope. My Mortgage Agent at Clover was caring and professional, and help me get a great rate and flexible terms on full refinance. The whole process took less than 48 hours! I was impressed at how quickly and easily they were able to get me the money and home refinance I needed. Thank you Clover Mortgage, I'm recommending you to everyone I know!!

When I found Clover Mortgage online, I called them and a friendly Mortgage Agent was able to help me get approved for a mortgage quickly and hassle-free. I got a good rate and now live in a home that I am comfortable in and am able to easily afford my monthly payments.
